Russian soldiers, who have always been known for their ingenuity, have created an unusual wheeled self-propelled gun (SPG). They mounted an 82-mm 2B9 "Vasilek" smoothbore automatic mortar on a small-tonnage UAZ-3303 all-terrain vehicle.
The combat vehicle turned out to be light and maneuverable. This allowed the soldiers to take advantage of the 2B9 "Vasilek" mortar in combat - rate of fire (up to 120 rounds per minute) and high firing range (up to 4.2 km).
The gun fires mines weighing 3.1 kg, 4.6 kg, which break up into hundreds of fragments. Thus, the kill radius of the "Vasilek" exceeds 6 m.
The 2B9 "Vasilek" mortar is also installed on:
- KamAZ vehicles
- "Ural" vehicles
- BMP-1
- MT-LB transporters-tractors
- BTR-D, BTR-MD
