In Pyatigorsk, you can now see a new tram in the colors of the Russian flag without passengers. The first anti-vandal tram 71-411 from «Uraltransmash» is currently undergoing testing, but by the end of March it will already start carrying passengers on one of the popular routes.
The 71-411 car can carry up to 179 people. It is very narrow and designed specifically for operation in cities where the track width is only 1000 mm, and urban infrastructure facilities are located very close to the line of movement. This also applies to Pyatigorsk.
The narrowness of the car does not affect its comfort. Inside, there is an area for passengers with limited and low mobility, and a baby or инвалидная коляска can fit in the low-floor part of the car. There are also air conditioning, ventilation and lighting systems in the cabin, and charging points for smartphones during the trip.
The driver has also been taken care of: he has a comfortable cabin with a wide viewing angle and a fairly comfortable seat. This tram has the ability to use the GLONASS navigation system, which also makes the job easier.
According to the manufacturers, based on the results of all checks, they plan to purchase a large batch of these tram cars.
