Для складских роботов и роя дронов: в НИУ «МЭИ» разработали систему навигации с помощью радиомаяков

The system will help organize the navigation of robots and drones in areas where GLONASS does not work

Scientists at the National Research University (NRU) "MPEI" have presented a system of radio beacons that provides navigation for drones and industrial (warehouse) robots in areas where there is no access to GLONASS.

The navigation complex was developed by employees of the Department of Radio Engineering Systems of the university under the leadership of Alexander Chugunov. It consists of radio transmitters that are placed around the perimeter of the working area, as well as radio tags for the drones/robots themselves. Thanks to a special interface, the devices receive data about their location in real time.

Where the development will be useful

The hardware and software complex covers an area of 1 thousand square meters. It can be used to navigate a swarm of drones, autonomous robots in production workshops, in warehouses and other spaces where there is no connection to GLONASS or GPS. It serves as a source of coordinates for autopiloting.
