Since the end of February, residents of the Moscow region have been able to observe a new electric train without passengers on the MCD-2 Nakhabino – Volokolamsk section. According to the Moscow Department of Transport, the updated import-independent electric train "Ivolga 4.0" is undergoing final testing.
The electric train for the MCD has been undergoing testing since autumn, and now, together with its manufacturer Transmashholding and operators from the Central Federal Passenger Company, it has been allowed on the MCD tracks. The testing takes place without passengers in the current traffic schedule and in conjunction with other trains.
At the same time, the train cab contains not only the driver and his assistant, but also a team of industry specialists.
In the "Ivolga 4.0", passengers will find an updated exterior design and new blackberry-colored seats with headrests inside. There are still areas for charging electric scooters and bicycle parking, and there are tables with wireless chargers for phones, as well as USB-C and USB-A ports for charging gadgets via cable.
You can get in and out of the "Ivolga 4.0" faster, as there are now three doors in the intermediate cars. In addition to the increase in the number of doors, the new electric train has increased its maximum speed from 120 to 160 km/h. This happened due to the transition to domestic electric motors and domestic software.
You will be able to ride the MCD on new electric trains very soon.
