Россия переходит на отечественные охотничьи патроны IGLA

Suitable for woodcocks and larger game

The Research Institute of Applied Chemistry (NIIPKh) of Rostec State Corporation has developed a replacement for foreign hunting ammunition – the IGLA 12-gauge cartridge brand. They are made entirely of Russian components.

Cartridge production began in 2023. Since then, the IGLA line has already included IGLA Optimum hunting shot cartridges, IGLA Champion sporting cartridges for all disciplines of clay target shooting, and IGLA BIOR cartridges for hunting at short distances up to 25 meters.

The IGLA Premium premium ammunition has recently been added to this family. According to the manufacturers, this cartridge has been improved in a number of characteristics, including internal ballistic parameters and safety.

The IGLA Premium line will feature shot sizes 7, 5, 3, 1. The cartridge series uses the KV-23 primer, developed specifically for these ammunition. In terms of ignition pulse power, it surpasses foreign and domestic counterparts. The improved characteristics ensure more complete combustion of gunpowder and, as a result, stability of internal ballistic parameters and increased barrel cleanliness. The new primer also made it possible to increase shot stability by 15%. The shot velocity in the cartridge exceeds 400 m/s, the average accuracy and pattern is at least 70%, the firing range is up to 50 meters, and the high-hardness shot provides good sharpness of the shot.
