The Moscow authorities plan to launch 5 more electric vessel routes in the Moscow River water area by 2030. Currently, 12 Russian-made vessels transport residents and visitors, cruising between 12 piers. This was announced by the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin.
By the specified date, the number of electric vessels will increase to 60, and the number of piers to 67. River transport will become faster and more comfortable, the Mayor emphasized.
The future belongs to eco-friendly transport. Its development is one of the priorities of the city's transport program
Moscow also plans to update its recreational and cruise river fleet. The world's first year-round electric river vessel route "Kievsky - Heart of the Capital" was opened in June 2023. The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, attended the ceremony.
The second route "ZIL — Pechatniki" with a length of over 9 km was launched in September of the same year.
