Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko stated that 2,000 students will receive 1 million rubles each to implement their projects as part of the "Student Startup" competition. It is conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science to increase technological entrepreneurship among university students.
This year, the emphasis will be on supporting projects in key areas for the Russian economy: from artificial intelligence and machine tool building to microelectronics and UAVs
University students from any faculty, including foreigners, can apply. The startup must correspond to one of the following areas:
- digital technologies
- medicine and health-saving technologies
- chemical technologies and materials
- new devices
- biotechnologies
- creative industries
- resource-saving energy
The Ministry of Education and Science stated that over the past two years, more than 10,000 students have participated in the competition. The best projects received grants. Applications are accepted until April 15, 2024. In addition to students, schoolchildren and college students can be participants in startups.
Earlier, Russian students presented a sticker that works on the principle of AirTag, tracking the location of an item. At SevSU, students developed a drone for collecting garbage in the sea. Another interesting technological project is a robot dog, which was presented by students of Moscow State University.
