In recent years, Russia has developed a new class of weapons for the army - self-propelled artillery guns on wheels. The first in this series was "Malva", then "Drok" was added to it, and the last one was "Floks." All of them are already being supplied to the balance of the Ministry of Defense.
"First Technical" already told about "Floks" with a 120 mm rifled gun when it began to enter the troops. But there was little information about its characteristics then. Now, a whole episode of the "Military Acceptance" program of the Zvezda TV channel was dedicated to "Floks", where they talked about some of the secrets of the deadly "flower".
The developers say that it is unique and has no analogues.
Fire raid, changing position in seconds, self-destruction - what the Russian self-propelled gun "Floks" can do
So, what makes "Floks" unique:
- versatility - the gun can provide firing at the elevation angles of a gun, howitzer and mortar and combines the ability to fire mortar mines and rifled shells;
- simultaneous fire raid mode - this is several shots in a row from different positions of the barrel vertically. At the same time, the shells arrive simultaneously at almost the same point;
- the ability to work both in conjunction with a command post and other self-propelled guns, and as a single fire weapon;
- speed of operation: switching to combat position in just 30-40 seconds and changing position - even faster. The projectile has not reached - and "Floks" has already moved and changed position. This is half as fast as foreign analogues;
- new electronics that integrates with all modern reconnaissance systems and drones;
- the ability to keep its technologies secret - "Floks" is capable of actual self-destruction. A shot at a special point in the cabin, if it is necessary to retreat and abandon the self-propelled gun, will turn it into a pile of irreparable and non-combat-ready iron.
It is noted that based on the results of combat use, the "Floks" system will be refined and improved.
