Cheaper and tastier: Siberian scientists have invented an environmentally friendly water purification plant

NSTU purifier produces up to 50 cubic meters of water per day

Researchers at Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) have invented a plant for the environmentally friendly purification of well water from iron, manganese and calcium salts. At the same time, no reagents are required.

The output is water that meets SanPiN requirements.

The cost of one cubic meter of purified water is 2.5 times lower than the cost of water purified using other methods. The plant produces up to 50 cubic meters of water without impurities per day.

It is specified that the purification technology is based on physical impact on the treated water. Impurities dissolved in water precipitate and are separated by filtration. In addition, NSTU scientists have patented an original vortex device for water treatment.

The university believes that the water purification plant will help to get closer to highly productive and environmentally friendly agriculture and aquaculture.

Earlier, scientists from NSU developed a special impregnation for fabric that helps it self-clean in daylight.
