The new Russian Hermes anti-tank missile system (ATGM) may soon enter service. The prototype has passed all tests, and mass production is scheduled to begin in the coming months.
The ATGM was developed by engineers from the Tula KBP (part of the High-Precision Complexes holding), as well as specialists from NIIFP. The updated Hermes received an updated hardware and source code for the fire control system.
Technical characteristics of the Hermes ATGM:
- Firing range - up to 100 km
- Missile weight with container - 130 kg
- Missile flight speed - 1300 m/s
- Weight of the high-explosive fragmentation warhead - 30 kg
- Installation on air, ground, shipborne carrier
- Salvo firing mode at 6 targets
Rostec emphasizes that the Hermes complex, presented in 2020 at the Army forum, occupies a niche between guided artillery shells and operational-tactical systems.
www1.ru wrote about tests of the modernized ATGM in May 2023. At that time, KBP stated that the decision on the supply of the complex would be made based on the test results.
