The Altai enterprise "Barnaultransmash", which is part of the "High-Precision Systems" holding (Rostec), increased its output almost 2.5 times in 2023, including engines for IFVs.
The plant has updated equipment and built new production facilities. In January 2024, "Barnaultransmash" received another batch of machine tools to scale up production.
"Barnaultransmash" is a specialized enterprise that designs and manufactures marine, industrial, and transport diesels of the D6, D12, VAZ type with a capacity of 55 to 650 hp, as well as engines for the BMP-2 and BMP-3.
The plant was founded in 1942 to produce tank engines of the V-2 type. During the war years, more than 10 thousand engines were assembled here.
Earlier, "Kurganmashzavod" sent a batch of BMP-3s to the Russian military, which are resistant to low temperatures.
