The plant has updated equipment and built new production facilities. In January 2024, Barnaultransmash received another batch of machine tools to scale up production.

Barnaultransmash is a specialized enterprise that designs and manufactures marine, industrial, and transport diesels of the D6, D12, VAZ type with a capacity of 55 to 650 hp, as well as engines for the BMP-2 and BMP-3.

The plant was founded in 1942 to produce tank engines of the V-2 type. During the war years, more than 10 thousand engines were assembled here.

Earlier, Kurganmashzavod sent a batch of BMP-3s to the Russian military, which are resistant to low temperatures.
