The Russian Ministry of Defense has shown modernized T-72B3M tanks. The products, which receive more and more updates within the walls of Uralvagonzavod, are being tested at training grounds.
T-72B3M is a deeply modernized version of the main battle tank T-72. During the modernization of recent years, it received an enhanced engine with 1130 horsepower and a modified combat compartment.
Unlike the basic version, it is more survivable and effective not only during combined arms combat, but also during combat operations with the massive use of anti-tank weapons.
Its armor is reinforced with side screens with dynamic protection modules"Relikt" and mounted lattice screens.
The differences of the new T-72B3M tank include:
- more powerful engines and automatic transmission;
- improved fire control system with a digital ballistic computer;
- new dynamic protection systems in a "soft" case;
- sight with laser rangefinder and anti-tank missile control system;
- digital communication means of the latest generation;
- rear view cameras;
- more reliable caterpillar tracks.
Also in 2023, the Ministry of Defense patented a sample of the T-72B3M tank with a new Arena-M complex, capable of repelling anti-tank weapons of a conditional enemy."Arena-M" can protect the tank from grenades, guided missiles and artillery HEAT projectiles.
