Sergey Tsyganov, an auto expert, showed in his Telegram channel "Russian Automobile" what the new emblems look like for cars that will be assembled at the former Hyundai Motor plant - Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus in St. Petersburg.
This does not mean that Avilon will use Solaris as the main brand of HMMR (as some media wrote yesterday with reference to me: I did not assert this!). This is just evidence of the work done and, accordingly, the likelihood of using this brand is higher than any other.
In December 2023, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus plant was bought by the Russian LLC Art-Finance, associated with the Avilon dealer, after almost two years of downtime, and in early January it started working.
During the deal, parts for assembling hundreds of cars remained in the plant's warehouses, and Hyundai Motor allowed the new owners to assemble them - but under new brands. According to various estimates, the plant in St. Petersburg will be able to assemble more than ten thousand cars from the parts that remained there at the time of the deal.
The leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that the department expects the first cars to come off the assembly line of this plant after the launch by the middle of the year.
