The Moscow Metro and the Moscow Central Circle (MCC) have launched open testing of fare payment using the Faster Payments System (SBP), the Moscow Department of Transport reported.
The fare payment service using SBP is activated free of charge in the "Moscow Metro" mobile application. The user needs to select the bank where the account is opened, and also confirm the subscription in the bank's application.
The fare payment mechanism consists of several steps:
- Launch the "Moscow Metro" application on your smartphone
- Press the button with the QR code
- Bring the QR code to the reader on the turnstile.
61 rubles will be debited from the passenger's bank card for the trip.
Passengers will return to the convenient way to pay for travel using a smartphone
The Moscow authorities emphasize that SBP is a domestic technology that belongs to the Central Bank. The Faster Payments System is completely safe and reliably protected from external interference.
In October 2023, fare payment via biometrics was launched in the Moscow Metro. With its help, passengers could save money, since the cost of one trip was only 36 rubles.
