The sales volume of passenger cars in the Russian market in 2023 increased by 69% to 1.059 million units. More than 30% of sales came from the Russian Lada - 324 thousand units (+85.7%), Avtostat reported.
These are record figures for AvtoVAZ. Among foreign cars, Chinese Haval showed good sales with 111.7 thousand units, as well as Geely - 93.55 thousand units and Changan - 47.8 thousand units.
It is noted that active sales were in December 2023 - almost 120 thousand cars were sold. In November, about 110 thousand cars were sold.
Despite the overall recovery of the Russian car market, sales have not yet reached the level of 2021. Then more than 1.5 million cars were purchased. Analysts believe that sales of about 1.2 million cars are expected this year.
Earlier, the Russian company "Balakovo Rubber Products" replaced Turkish components on some Lada models.
