Russia to start producing its new 4G and 5G base stations in 2024

The preliminary cost of one such station is estimated at 1.5-2 million rubles

In Russia, the production of new 4G and 5G base stations from the base station developer "Irteya," which belongs to the MTS telecom operator, will be launched in 2024.

Equipment testing, according to "Irteya," will take place on communication networks in Moscow and the Moscow region in the first half of 2024

The first batch of base stations at the Tomsk "Mikran" facilities this year will amount to only a thousand units. Later, up to 5-10 thousand units will be produced per year. The cost of one such base station produced in Russia, according to preliminary data, will be 1.5-2 million rubles.

In addition to market demand, as representatives of the company noted in a conversation with "Kommersant," changes in the requirements for domestic manufacturers regarding the localization of components will also be monitored.

Currently, Irteya's products, according to various estimates, have more than 90% foreign components, and the company plans to increase the level of equipment localization in Russia.
