The first flight-ready Angara-A5 rocket has been delivered to the Vostochny Cosmodrome, which will be sent into space after flight design tests. Roscosmos considers this launch "a new chapter in the history of the Russian rocket and space industry." Full flight tests of the carrier rocket will be completed in 2024.
Angara is a Russian three-stage carrier rocket developed by the M.V. Khrunichev Center, which is part of Roscosmos. The rocket is 55 meters long and almost 9 m in diameter. The launch mass is 773 tons. Depending on the orbit, Angara can put from 24 to 2.8 tons of payload into orbit.
It is known that three-stage heavy-class Angara-A5 and Angara-A5M carrier rockets are planned to be used as part of the Amur space rocket complex of the first stage at Vostochny.
At the cosmodrome, actions were already practiced during the rocket launch on a cargo table with a mock-up of the Angara with the participation of the launch facility, fueling the rocket mock-up and other operations.
The readiness and operability of the launch complex systems have been confirmed, and now a real rocket is being prepared for launch.
