Preparations are underway at the Vostochny Cosmodrome for the launch of the Russian Angara heavy launch vehicle, which is scheduled for the end of 2023.
The thermostating system of the electric refueling model worked normally, and electrical checks were also successfully carried out. The calculation carried out partial and complete refueling of the model with fuel - liquid oxygen and naphthyl. The refueling systems worked without any problems.
Then the rocket was again transferred to a horizontal position and transported to a technical position in a storage location after draining the fuel and other precautions.
Prior to this, other actions during the launch of the rocket on the cargo table with the Angara model, with the participation of the launch facility, had already been worked out at the cosmodrome.
The full flight tests of the launch vehicle will be completed in 2024.
Angara is a Russian three-stage launch vehicle developed by the Khrunichev Center, which is part of Roscosmos.
The length of the rocket is 55 meters, the diameter is almost 9 m. The launch mass is 773 tons. Depending on the orbit, Angara-A5 can launch from 24 to 2.8 tons of payload. Thanks to this rocket, Russia will be able to launch any spacecraft into space on its own.
