Rostec to Import-Substitute Cameras for Neural Networks

The Russian holding company uniting manufacturers of electronic products, Ruselectronics (part of Rostec), has begun testing cameras for machine vision (the application of computer vision technologies for industry and production - editor's note www1.ru). The devices will be used for the operation of neural networks, the Rostec press service reported.

The camera, weighing 500 g, is capable of continuous operation for over 10,000 hours. It can be integrated into the customer's system. The Ruselectronics development records streaming video with a resolution of 1280x1024 pixels, sending data to the server.

After testing, Rostec will decide on the launch of mass production of cameras. It is expected that it will replace foreign analogues, which have become difficult to import due to Western sanctions.

Such cameras are in demand in robotics, on automated production lines of enterprises, the state corporation summarized.

Earlier it was reported that specialists of the Central Research Institute "Electron" have developed a camera that is capable of seeing objects at a distance of up to 20 km. At the same time, the quality of shooting does not depend on weather conditions, since the camera operates in the IR range.
