The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the re-equipment of the Strategic Missile Forces with PC-24 Yars missile systems with a solid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missile.
The Kozelsk formation of the Strategic Missile Forces was the first to receive them. Prior to this, the entire infrastructure of the positional area was prepared: from a structure for conducting tactical exercises to the locations for duty and rest of personnel. In a few hours, the missile was loaded into a silo launcher using a hydraulic mechanism of a special transport-loading unit.
The implementation of the measures planned for 2023 to re-equip the Strategic Missile Forces with the Yars missile system will increase the combat capabilities of the strategic nuclear forces of our country.
The re-equipment of other Strategic Missile Forces units is ahead. By the end of the year, the latest Yars complexes, which are a modification of the Topol-M, will replace the Topols currently in service with the Strategic Missile Forces.
The missile troops have another addition. Shortly before that, the Ministry of Defense re-equipped the Yasnensky missile formation with the Avangard stationary-based missile system in the Orenburg region.
And this did not go unnoticed. In the UK, they were concerned about this "chilling threat": the West has no way to repel a potential attack by Avangards.
