The Rostec State Corporation brought the modernized Il-76MD-90A(E) to the Dubai Airshow 2023 international aerospace exhibition in the UAE.
The heavy military transport aircraft became the first example of such equipment since 1994 that Russia has brought to a foreign exhibition.
At Dubai Airshow 2023, the aircraft was engaged not only in self-presentation, but also in an unusual business. Its more than 50-meter wings became a shelter from the sun for visitors to the exhibition.

In ordinary life, the Il-76MD-90A(E) carries cargo: up to 60 tons of cargo over a distance of up to 4 thousand kilometers, up to 20 tons – over 8.5 thousand kilometers.
For military purposes, the Il-76MD-90A(E) is used to transport troops, cargo, military equipment and weapons. Personnel and cargo, military equipment and weapons are landed from it by parachute and landing methods.
For civilian purposes, the aircraft transports the wounded and sick, and can also extinguish and localize fires.
The aircraft, like its previous versions, takes off and lands on concrete and unpaved airfields. But the Il-76MD-90A(E) has improved accuracy of aircraft navigation and landing, radio communication quality and a number of other characteristics.
