Russian Aerospace Forces received a batch of Mi-26T2V helicopters, which are considered the best in the world. It is not only the heaviest lift helicopter, but also the most versatile and resilient to any conditions.
The Mi-26T2V is based on the Mi-26, which is the largest serially produced rotorcraft in the world.
It differs from its predecessor in its ability to operate in any climate and at any time of the day, including in combat conditions. Mi-26T2V is equipped with an integrated on-board electronics complex NPK90-2V.
This avionics system allows automatic flight following the route, exit to a predetermined point, approach for landing, as well as pre-landing maneuvering and return to the main or alternate airfield. On board of Mi-26T2V there is its own onboard protection system 'Vitebsk', capable of resisting attacking means with infrared homing heads.
The signal lighting equipment of Mi-26T2 is adapted for use with night vision goggles, and new energy-absorbing crew seats are installed in the helicopter cabin.
Improvements also touched upon the navigation system, satellite communications, emergency rescue equipment.
Its payload capacity is the same as that of the regular Mi-26. It can lift 25 tons to a height of 4100 meters, or almost 90 paratroopers in full combat gear. This world record has not yet been broken.
