The automotive Telegram channel "No Limits" revealed one of the secrets of Aurus from the presidential motorcade – the underside of the car’s wheels.
It is noted that the wheel with the "Kama NU402" tire of size 365/80R20 can withstand shooting and is able to move out of gunfire at a speed of 50 km/h for a distance of at least 50 km.
It will survive even after a mine blast with a power of 400 g in TNT equivalent, and after gunshots.
With a load of up to 3.5 tons, a car on "NU402" can reach a speed of 110 km/h, with a lighter equipped mass — up to 130 km/h.
Information about the new domestic development for the safety of the country's top officials became publicly available in 2015. According to the source of "Izvestia", in addition to the motorcade, bullet-resistant wheels were supposed to appear on a number of commercial armored vehicles, as well as on the armored personnel carrier "Boomerang" and the armored car "Typhoon".
However, the developing companies of the super wheels themselves then refused to comment on this information to journalists.
