Russia designs new domestic communication and broadcasting satellite "Express-AMU4"

It will provide communication and broadcasting over America, Europe, parts of Africa and the Middle East

"Academician M. F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems" continues to develop the domestic satellite "Express-AMU4" based on "Express-1000N", which is planned to be launched as early as 2026. It will provide communication and broadcasting over America, Europe, parts of Africa and the Middle East and will last at least 15 years.

According to "TECHNOSPHERE", the design of the satellite has already been completed, and domestic equipment for its equipment is currently being developed. It will be completely import-substituted.

It is assumed that the satellite will last at least 15 years.

If the final development is very similar to the "Express-1000N", then up to 600 tons of payload of the device will be placed on the satellite platform up to two tons. It will work in geostationary orbit. This means that a Proton-M or Soyuz-2 launch vehicle will be required to launch the satellite.

Earlier it became known that Russia will launch almost 400 domestic new communication satellites by 2030. Each of the directions — transport, Internet of Things, broadband Internet access and mobile satellite service — will have its own orbits.
