«Information Satellite Systems» named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev continues the development of the domestic satellite «Express-AMU4» based on «Express-1000N», which is planned to be launched in 2026. It will provide communication and broadcasting over America, Europe, part of Africa and the Middle East and will last at least 15 years.
According to «TECHNOSPHERE», the satellite design has already been completed, now the domestic equipment for its implementation is being developed. It will be fully import-substituted.
If the final development is a lot like «Express-1000N», then up to 600 tons of payload equipment will be accommodated on the satellite platform up to two tons. It will work in geostationary orbit, that means to bring the satellite to operational capacity will require «Proton-M» or «Soyuz-2» carrier rocket.
Earlier it became known that Russia will launch almost 400 new domestic communication satellites by 2030. Each of the directions - transport, IoT, broadband internet access, and mobile satellite service - will have its orbits.
