The Russian-developed ground robotic platforms 'Miner BR-1' for mining and BRG-1 for evacuation of the wounded will receive artificial intelligence (AI), a well-informed source in the Russian defense industry reported.
They are talking about the application of machine vision technologies (a set of methods that allow robots to 'see', in particular, with the help of cameras and a thermal imager). Thus, robotic systems will be able to maintain round-the-clock combat duty without an operator.
According to the source, tests with AI will begin in October. It is expected that the range of robotic platforms will increase from 700 m to 3 km, without the need for a repeater.
Russian military personnel have been using 'Miner BR-1' and BRG-1 since 2023. It is known that over 90% of the components of the robots are domestically produced.
According to the information from the 'Lamp of Knowledge' channel, BRG- 1 can transport a load of up to 100 kg. The robot is capable of moving on rough terrain and can reach speeds of up to 15 km/h.
