The company "Kama" has begun testing the functional platform for the "Atom" electric vehicle, which will last until mid-2024. The platform testing will take place at proving grounds in Russia and China, according to the automaker's press service.
As part of the testing program, 13 functional prototypes of the lower part of the electric vehicle have been built. "Kama" specialists plan to fine-tune the chassis, calibrate the steering, braking system, and electric motor. It is noted that this stage is important on the way to the serial production of "Atom."
The car's premiere took place in May 2023. The start of sales of "Atom" is scheduled for 2025. The developers promise that the electric vehicle will have a range of 500 km and will be able to accelerate to 100 km/h in 7 seconds.
The company "Kama" promises to announce the cost of the electric vehicle closer to the start of mass production. The manufacturer emphasizes that the "Atom" will implement concepts of active and passive safety. In particular, it is planned to use a driver assistance system (ADAS 2.5), as well as ensure high body rigidity.
