Russian scientists' development will simplify the transition of domestic airlines to sustainable aviation fuel

All airlines in the world plan to replace aviation kerosene with SAF

Scientists from Samara University have developed software designed to make it easier for domestic airlines to switch to so-called sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

The software package allows you to understand how the characteristics of the aircraft (speed, fuel consumption, emissions into the atmosphere, etc.) change when using a certain type of biofuel. In the future, synthetic fuel, fuel from recycled materials and aviation condensed fuel will be added to the database.

If you enter the necessary current data, the program will be able to show the economic feasibility of using biofuel on this aircraft.

The software package is based on the ASTRA automated system previously created at Samara University for the design of gas turbine engines used in jet aircraft.
