The head of "Aeroflot," Sergey Alexandrovsky, announced at the Eastern Economic Forum the airline's plans to launch flights to the Chinese island of Hainan this year.
We are planning flights to Hainan. We are currently awaiting permission and obtaining slots. We would like to launch them in 2023. The main deterrent is the unlaunched visa-free regime with China.
In June, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Sergey Alexandrovsky reported that "Aeroflot" plans to expand its flight program to China: to open additional flights from Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Vladivostok to various cities in China. Flights to Hainan are part of the implementation of this initiative.
The mechanism of visa-free group exchange between Russia and China was relaunched on August 1. Earlier, "Aeroflot" announced the resumption of regular flights from Moscow to Abu Dhabi.
