The large diesel-electric submarine "Mozhaysk" of Project 636, which is under construction at the Admiralty Shipyards for the Russian Pacific Fleet, has successfully completed a deep-sea dive in the Baltic Sea as part of factory trials.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, during the dive, specialists from the delivery team of JSC "Admiralty Shipyards", together with the crew, checked the operation of all systems and mechanisms of the vessel, and practiced procedures for controlling the submarine at depth and in various surfacing modes. Then, factory sea trials will be continued in the surface position according to the plan.
After the return of "Mozhaysk" to the pier, the company will begin testing on shore, including the signing of the necessary documents and the completion of factory sea certificates.
"Mozhaysk" became the fifth submarine in the series intended for the Pacific Fleet. It was launched on April 27 of this year. Currently, JSC "Admiralty Shipyards" continues the construction of the sixth submarine of this series - "Yakutsk". Both boats were laid down in parallel in August 2021.
