Today it became known that JSC "Moscow Automobile Plant "Moskvich"" is preparing to launch a new car model into mass production - "Moskvich 6". The Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, and the General Director of KamAZ, Sergei Kogogin, came to the plant to start this process.
We opened mass assembly today. A year ago there were empty workshops here. We went through a period of changing the entire logistics, overcame competition from other manufacturers. Of course, largely thanks to the wonderful team. As a result, we managed to save the plant, 26 thousand cars have already been produced. Now we are expanding the model range.
"Moskvich 6" is a sedan that promises comfortable trips thanks to its spacious interior and roomy trunk. The car has impressive characteristics: length 4,770 mm, width 1,820 mm, height 1,492 mm and wheelbase 2,770 mm. In addition, its 540-liter trunk will provide enough space for trips, for example, to the airport.
The car has mounts for child car seats (ISOFIX), stability control (ESP), anti-lock braking system (ABS) and many other functions aimed at ensuring the safety of both the driver and passengers.
This front-wheel drive car is available with two types of engines. The first is with a 136 hp engine and an automatic transmission, and the second is with an engine that produces 174 horsepower and a 6-speed robotic transmission. The front suspension of the car is made using McPherson technology, and the rear is multi-link. The car is equipped with disc brakes on all wheels, and its weight varies from 1440 to 1485 kilograms, while the total weight is from 1815 to 1910 kilograms. The full fuel tank holds 55 liters. The declared maximum speed that the "Moskvich 6" can develop is 170 km/h.
The basic equipment includes an instrument panel with a 3.5-inch screen, an audio system and a 10.4-inch multimedia screen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, a keyless entry and remote engine start system, as well as a rear-view camera and parking sensors. The car will be available in three trim levels and five different colors: black, white, gray, red and blue. The interior of the car, even in the starting kit, is leather.
In more advanced configurations, the "Moskvich 6" offers a number of premium options, including an electric sunroof, a color digital screen on the instrument panel with a diagonal of 7 inches, climate control, a surround view system, ambient interior lighting, "curtain" type airbags, rear cross-traffic warning systems (CTA), rear collision warning (RCW), and door opening warning (DOW), as well as a blind spot monitoring system (BSW).
"Moskvich 6" is a rebranded Chinese Sehol A5 Plus, which is produced by a subsidiary of JAC. Externally, the cars are almost indistinguishable, with the exception of the logos. With the "Moskvich" nameplate, it was presented for the first time at the XI International Eurasian Taxi Forum.
With the "Moskvich 6", the plant will diversify its model range, which currently includes two crossovers: the gasoline "Moskvich 3" and the electric "Moskvich 3e". Next year, two more models are expected to appear - the "Moskvich 5" and "Moskvich 8" crossovers.
