Vladimir Zykov, Director of the Association of Professional Users of Social Networks and Messengers, published a photo of the domestic smartphone "R-FON" on his Telegram channel.
There was already information in the media that STC IT "ROSA" is preparing its own phone with the operating system "ROSA Mobile". I now have the details and, most importantly, the smartphone itself! It will be called "R-FON".
The smartphone will be aimed at the mass consumer (the preliminary cost is estimated at around 40 thousand rubles). It will be assembled in Zelenograd, and the case will say Made in Russia.
It is clear that some parts will not be made in Russia, but there have been no phones made in Russia with such localization before.
As for the operating system "ROSA Mobile", it is based on Linux and, according to Zykov, is "something between iOS and Android". It is logical to assume that "ROSA Mobile" is built on AOSP Android, and resembles iOS exclusively in its interface.
The smartphone with a 6.7-inch screen has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. The "R-FON" is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 processor and is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery. The main camera of the device is 50 MP, but unfortunately there are no details about the selfie camera. But there is support for two SIM cards, a fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth.
"R-FON" will be available for the corporate sector and government customers in 2023, and the new product will go on retail sale in 2024.
