Vladimir Putin visited an exhibition of advanced developments in the field of quantum technologies

It takes place within the framework of the Forum of Future Technologies

Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at the Forum of Future Technologies, which is taking place in Moscow. He visited an exhibition of Russian achievements in the field of quantum technology development. The head of state was accompanied by Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom, Oleg Belozerov, Director General of Russian Railways, and Ruslan Yunusov, co-founder of the Russian Quantum Center.

Vladimir Putin was shown a 16-qubit quantum computer on ions, on which an algorithm for calculating a molecule was launched using a cloud platform – its modeling in real time. At the moment, this is the most powerful quantum computer in the country. It was created as part of the implementation of the "roadmap" for quantum computing by a team of scientists from the Russian Quantum Center and the Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, coordinated by Rosatom.

Vladimir Putin was told about the key elements of the component base of quantum computers, quantum sensors and developments in the field of quantum communications. The President was also shown the capabilities of quantum communications with the connection in video conference mode of the Control and Monitoring Center of the Russian Railways main quantum network: a communication session was also held with subscribers in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod using the interuniversity quantum network.
