NPP Almaz, part of the Ruselectronics holding of Rostec, has presented a working prototype of the "CardioRobot" – an automated device for indirect cardiac massage during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The device can be used not only in stationary conditions, but also, for example, by ambulance crews. The device is equipped with a pulse oximeter and a cuff for non-invasive blood pressure measurement; based on the data from these sensors, it automatically adjusts the pressure and depth of compression.
The "CardioRobot" can operate for up to 45 minutes on a built-in battery. The launch of mass production of the device is scheduled for 2025.
