Yandex has announced the introduction of a hybrid model for moderating audio tracks – they will first be checked using a machine learning system, and then manually.
The new system will be used to identify content on sensitive topics that may cause discomfort to listeners. "Depending on the nature of the content, it may be marked with special signs indicating age restrictions, excluded from recommendations, or removed from the service," Yandex said.
Copyright holders whose content is found to be in violation of the rules will be able to appeal the decision. They will also be able to make changes to their tracks and re-upload them to Yandex Music. Interestingly, the platform is going to publicly report on the measures taken to create a comfortable user environment.
