Future Technologies Forum Kicks Off in Moscow

Vladimir Putin Welcomes Participants

The Future Technologies Forum kicked off today in Moscow and will last until July 14. This year, the Forum is held under the motto "Ahead of Time" and is dedicated to quantum technologies. The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, welcomed the participants of the event.

He noted that the Forum will become traditional and is designed to serve as an open platform for dialogue between representatives of government, business, and scientists, to develop joint steps in those research and technological areas that will determine global development and the future of humanity in the near future. "Our task, Russia's most important priority, is to use the colossal potential of such innovative solutions to grow the economy and improve the quality of life of people," Vladimir Putin emphasized.

"Today – in the face of unprecedented external challenges, and most importantly – a large-scale, qualitative renewal of industry, agriculture, all sectors of the Russian economy, public administration and the social sphere – it is fundamentally important that advanced developments of our engineers and researchers are implemented into life as quickly as possible. This is the key to strengthening our technological sovereignty, and therefore national progress, and the growth of the well-being of our citizens. I expect that the Future Technologies Forum will give an additional powerful impetus to this work," he added.

In 2023, the Forum is dedicated to quantum technologies, the scope of which is wide. These include new generation computers, the development and creation of unique medicines and materials, the optimization of power grids and logistics, and secure data transmission channels, etc.

New Russian quantum developments will be presented at the Forum will be presented at the Forum – they will be presented by Russian Railways, Rosatom, Gazprombank, the Government of Moscow and Sberbank. The program of the open days of the Forum on July 13–14 includes more than 20 business events, including panel sessions and business dialogues. More than 1,500 Russian and foreign guests are expected to participate in the Forum.
