A new type of fraud has appeared in Moscow: attackers are posting fake QR codes on electric scooters, through which a malicious link can be accessed or the user can be redirected to a phishing site. Metropolitan kicksharing services explained how to protect yourself from trouble.

«The service's security service works with each case of unauthorized information posting. We remind users that the QR code must be scanned before starting a trip only through the service application. The application does not accept third-party codes and prevents the possibility of following a malicious link», – Whoosh service said.

«If we find such elements, scout employees promptly remove them. For the safety of our users, we strongly recommend scanning the QR code only through the kicksharing service application», – Yurent noted.
