Active development of cooperation between the Russian Helicopters holding and Zimbabwe began in 2022, when several contracts were concluded for the supply of Mi-17 and Ansat civilian helicopters for key federal structures of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

«Today, we are solemnly handing over a batch of Russian-made Ansat helicopters to the Republic of Zimbabwe. Eighteen Ansats are intended for sanitary aviation. First of all, to rescue patients in remote areas. Each ambulance helicopter is equipped with a full set of medical equipment for resuscitation and emergency care,» said Sergey Chemezov, General Director of Rostec.

«Russian helicopters are a real flying ambulance that will urgently fly to the rescue in cases where every minute counts. The helicopter will help save lives where ordinary transport takes a very long time to wait. Up to sixty Russian-made helicopters will be delivered to the Republic of Zimbabwe by 2025,» Chemezov added.

The design of the Ansat allows you to quickly change the configuration of the helicopter: transform it into both a cargo and a passenger one. Ansat has the most spacious passenger cabin in its class, can carry up to 7 people. The helicopter is certified for use in the temperature range from –45 to +50 °С, suitable for operation in high mountains.
