The premiere of the largest installation operating on LMD technology in Russia took place at the "Metalworking-2023" exhibition. It was developed by the integrator "Rusatom - Additive Technologies" in conjunction with the Institute of Laser and Welding Technologies of St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University.
The device operates using direct laser deposition (DLD/DMD) technology. It is designed for the manufacture of products with a maximum diameter of 2200 mm and a height of 1000 mm. The installation is equipped with two industrial 6-axis robots and a positioner with a lifting capacity of up to 8000 kg.
With the help of this DMD printer, it is possible to manufacture large-sized products using powder materials made of nickel alloys, stainless and heat-resistant steels. The installation is relevant for use in all key industries – nuclear, aviation, shipbuilding, space.
