Rostec has improved the Anti-Aircraft Missile System 'Pantsir-S' and is finishing tests of the Air Defense System 'Pantsir-SM-SV'

'Pantsir-S' is now able to intercept HIMARS missiles

The creators of the anti-aircraft missile-gun system 'Pantsir-S' has announced a number of improvements. For example, the system is now able to intercept the latest foreign missiles and artillery shells like HIMARS.

«The Anti-aircraft missile-gun system 'Pantsir-S' has been upgraded considering the experience of operation during combat usage. All necessary modifications have been implemented», - was told in the 'High Precision Systems' holding (part of 'Rostec').

The main purpose of 'Pantsir' is the close defense of civil and military facilities, as well as covering long-range air defense systems. In the Armed Forces of Russia, the system is represented by the 'Pantsir-S1' modification with a multichannel target capture and tracking system: it is capable of hitting air targets flying at speeds up to 1 000 m/s at a distance from 200 m to 20 km.

Also, 'High Precision Systems' reported that the air defense system 'Pantsir-SM-SV' is in the final stages of testing. It is a modification of the short-range air defense missile system on a tracked chassis. The system will have two types of anti-aircraft guided missiles and will have an increased area of destruction.
