A problem related to the use of ChatGPT in Russia has been revealed at Skoltech: although AI can communicate very well in Russian, it has little data on the history of Russia and Russian literature.
This was stated by Alexander Sivolobov, Deputy Head of the Center of Competencies of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) for Wireless Communication Technologies and the Internet of Things based at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech).
«However, there is also a problem. A limited amount of Russian-language texts was used in the training. As a result, the system lacks knowledge about the events of our history, about literature, including the school curriculum. It also does not have sufficient expertise in the works of famous Russian authors on philosophy, politics, philology and history», - said Alexander Sivolobov.
He noted that the 570 GB of text data on which ChatGPT was trained is "a lot, but not nearly the entire body of knowledge that is publicly available."
