The case is getting close to the point when the first domestic import substitution liner SSJ New, equipped with a Russian engine PD-8, will rise into the sky. An event that many in the Russian aviation industry are waiting for will happen within three months. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, speaking in the State Duma.

He said: 'In aircraft construction - we are creating a lineup of modern aircraft and helicopters. Last year, aerodynamic tests of the updated Superjet liner were fully completed. Now it will be equipped with Russian fifth-generation PD-8 engines instead of foreign units. Its first flight is planned for the next three months.'
