The latest Russian weapons "Kinzhal" and "Oreshnik" are completely different hypersonic missiles that differ in everything. This was reported by military expert Yuri Knutov.
He explained that the "Kinzhal" has only one warhead, while the "Oreshnik" can have a whole group of warheads. According to Knutov, they were created to perform different tactical tasks. He also added that the missiles have different designs.
The use of "Oreshnik" is an attack on areas, like "Grads" hit and cover a large area of territory. "Kinzhal", in turn, is a high-precision weapon. It is impossible to escape, it works like a scalpel.
Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal"
The "Kinzhal" is based on the 9M723 aeroballistic missile of the "Iskander-M", carrying different types of warheads and capable of operating at any initial speed and at any altitude of the carrier. As a result, engineers created an air missile system that has no analogues in the world.
The exact characteristics of the "Kinzhal" complex are still secret. It is only known that the Kh-47M2 missile can fly at a speed more than 12 times the speed of sound and hit at a range of 1500 km.
"Oreshnik"
This is a medium-range ground-based ballistic missile with a flight speed of more than 12 thousand km/h. It carries from three to six thermonuclear warheads with a capacity of 150 kt each. There is data on the maximum range of destruction of 5.5 thousand km.
