Shipbuilders at the Amur Shipbuilding Plant (ASZ, Komsomolsk-on-Amur) built the Project 20380 corvette "Sovershenny." The state flag was raised on the vessel, which later became part of the Pacific Fleet, on July 20, 2017. This date opens a new chapter in the history of the enterprise.
For the first time in sixty years, the Amur Shipbuilding Plant has handed over a surface combat ship to the Motherland. The corvette "Sovershenny" is the fourth serial ship of Project 20380 built in the country, and the first at the plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
Previously, the ASZ built surface combat ships of the following types: cruisers of Project 29-bis, destroyers of Project 30-K, and destroyers of Project 30-bis. The last ones in the 50s were destroyers and destroyers of Projects 56 and 57-bis. The plant is also known for the construction of submarines, ferries, and icebreaker-type vessels.
"Sovershenny" is designed to operate in the near sea zone and combat enemy surface ships and submarines, as well as to provide artillery support for naval landings during naval landing operations
