Bulgarian Military: New Delhi Wants to Customize Russian Aircraft

Indian authorities would like to integrate their own radars into the Su-57E fighters, as they are not satisfied with the quality of the Russian H036 Belka radar. This was written by military expert Boyko Nikolov in an article for Bulgarian Military, citing sources.

If this is true, then India's requirement to customize the Su-57E underscores the desire to assert technological sovereignty, even in the case of imported equipment.

Russia's offer to provide India with access to the source code is unprecedented. This is a rare opportunity to adapt foreign aircraft to the needs of the Indian Air Force.

Dassault Rafale gave limited access to the software of its fighters, which made integration with Indian ammunition such as the Astra missile difficult.

The Russian H036 Belka radar, according to Indian analysts, is not as effective in modern combat scenarios, where electronic warfare and long-range detection are paramount.

By equipping the Su-57E with Indian radars, New Delhi not only increases the combat effectiveness of the aircraft, but also ensures compatibility with the existing fleet, optimizing maintenance and logistics.

Thus, the Su-57E can join the Tejas, Su-30 MKI fleet, using common technologies.
