"Krasukha-2O", "Serp-VS5" and R-330Zh "Zhitel": CSIS analysts noted the high potential of Russian electronic warfare systems

Military expert Damantsev: "Krasukha-2O" suppresses the radar of the Boeing E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft

Russian decimeter L-band electronic warfare (EW) systems have great potential in countering GPS / GLONASS / Beidou / Galileo correction radionavigation modules installed on drones and other platforms. This is according to analysts at the American Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

Military expert Evgeny Damantsev recalled that Russian military personnel use the EW systems "Krasukha-2O", "Serp-VS5", "Serp-VS6D" and R-330Zh "Zhitel".

"Krasukha-2O" is capable of forming a narrow "jamming" beam using a parabolic antenna array. The main purpose of the systems is to suppress the transmitting and receiving paths of the AN/APY-2 radar of Boeing E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft (and modifications).
