Over time, the car's fuel system becomes clogged. This can lead to reduced engine power, increased fuel consumption, and even breakdowns. This was stated by Pavel Konstantinov, Director of the Mechanical Repair Department of the Avilon Automotive Group.
The first symptom of fuel system contamination is a noticeable drop in engine power. If the car has become slower to accelerate, responds worse to pressing the gas pedal, this may indicate problems with fuel supply.
If the engine has started to run intermittently, the cause may also be contamination of the fuel system. When fuel is supplied unevenly, this disrupts the combustion process in the cylinders, which leads to unstable engine operation. Often the culprits of this phenomenon are contaminated injectors.
Black smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe is another sign that fuel is not completely burned in the engine. The reason may be insufficient oxygen supply due to a contaminated air filter.
In the event that the car does not start, one of the likely causes may be contamination of the fuel system. Clogging of the fuel filter leads to the fact that fuel cannot normally enter the combustion chamber, and its amount is not enough to start the engine.
