The Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia will soon receive guided gliding aerial bombs PBK-500U "Drel". The range of the ammunition is up to 30 km.
A distinctive feature of the aerial bomb is a block integrated into the tail section with servomotors of aerodynamic rudders. The correction rudder planes are mated to a cruciform wing with a developed chord and lifting qualities.
The PBK-500U "Drel" gliding bombs will be equipped with cassettes with 15 self-targeting cumulative action combat elements "Motiv-3M", or their more advanced analogues SPBE-K "Drel".
There are no analogues in the world. The bomb is without an engine. The range when departing from the carrier is over 30 km. That is, the aircraft does not enter the air defense поражения zone, drops the product, and it finds the target itself.
Guidance to the target will be provided by inertial-navigation modules synchronized with GLONASS-correction modules based on "Kometa-K" antennas, shielded from interference in the lower hemisphere.
To increase the gliding range, there is a technical reserve for the PBK-500U "Drel" to retrofit the product with a folding wing of large span. The range can be increased by using cabriering at near-sonic or low supersonic speeds of about 1050-1350 km/h.
