Modern AASM-250 HAMMER French-made glide bombs, launched from a distance of 25-35 km, have appeared on the front lines. They are mainly used from MiG-29A and Su-27 aircraft, so Russia has every opportunity to intercept the carriers long before they reach the launch lines, said military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
The tactical aviation fleet of the Russian Aerospace Forces has the full range of means to detect, track, and intercept enemy aircraft long before they reach the lines for using AASM-250 HAMMER air bombs.
He noted that Su-35S crews with Irbis-E radar stations, which regularly patrol the airspace, are capable of detecting MiG-29A, Su-27, and Su-25M1 aircraft for interception with R-37M missiles.
Flights of Su-27SM3 or Su-30SM fighters equipped with N001VE and N011M Bars radars are also suitable for patrolling.
The aircraft will be detected at a distance of about 90 km, which will allow our "Sushkas" to intercept it with R-27ER and R-77-1 missiles long before it reaches the lines for using AASM-250 bombs.
At the same time, the analyst stated that the enemy found temporary windows between patrols of the Russian Aerospace Forces fighter crews and worked in a cabriole mode from low altitudes of 75-150 m, hiding from the radiation patterns of the 9S36M illumination radars of the Buk-M3 complexes deployed at a distance of at least 30 km from the line of combat contact.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian fiber optic FPV drones turned out to be completely invulnerable to electronic warfare at the front lines. The new type of UAV does not require careful selection of position and is protected from video signal interception.
