The "Steel Ram" T-80BVM tank has been changed a hundred times in 4 years

The 1250 hp gas turbine engine runs quieter than a diesel engine

Structurally, the T-80BVM tank is already about 50 years old, but it still remains relevant. In recent years, the combat vehicle has undergone hundreds of changes, receiving improved systems and new protection, Rostec stated.

The state corporation noted that the T-80BVM can operate both as a "sniper" with a range of up to 10 km, and as a "steel ram" with direct fire.

It is also an assassin, which, thanks to its gas turbine engine, can perform fast and stealthy flanking maneuvers. And, of course, it is still a "flying" tank that can jump into the air with all its tens of tons from an earthen ramp.

All this became possible thanks to the GTD-1250 gas turbine engine with a power of 1250 hp - it runs quieter than diesel power plants.

A tanker with 20 years of experience, Major Andrey Bestemyanov, explained that T-80BVM did not become obsolete, despite the era of attack drones. He is convinced that combat vehicles are still capable of engaging targets with direct fire.
