Peskov: Financing of new air defense systems by businesses has not been discussed

Entrepreneurs stated that they expect a tax deduction to help offset the costs of protecting industrial facilities

Investments by Russian companies in new air attack detection and repulsion systems have not yet been a subject of substantive discussion with the government. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that this initiative is yet to be considered by the Cabinet of Ministers.

The business proposal concerns the protection of industrial enterprises from air threats. In July, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) announced the readiness of companies to invest in the development of an early detection, warning, and attack repulsion system. However, as of October 19, specific financing parameters have not been publicly disclosed, and Peskov confirmed that there had been no substantive discussion of the initiative.

Last week, former RSPP head Alexander Shokhin once again confirmed the readiness of entrepreneurs to participate in such projects. In his opinion, a tax deduction could stimulate investments.

It remains unclear what portion of the costs businesses will bear, which specific technical solutions will receive funding, and how enterprises will interact with state structures.
